Algeria Adventure 2027
A demanding and memorable crossing that takes us from the Mediterranean to the depths of the Algerian Sahara, passing through historic oases, monumental dunes, remote tracks and some of North Africa’s rarest landscapes.
Route overview
Algeria Adventure 2027 has been designed as a true expedition of gradual progression, starting on the Mediterranean coast and moving, stage after stage, towards the heart of the Sahara.
The itinerary combines strategic links, remote sectors, carefully selected bivouacs and passages through iconic regions such as Taghit, Timimoun, In Salah, Erg Admer, Djanet and Tadrart.
This sequence offers a progressive and complete experience of the Algerian desert, revealing different environments: mountains, oases, hamada, erg, rocky plateaus and deep dunes.

The official start of the expedition with the sea crossing to Algeria. This is the transition point between Europe and Africa, marking the beginning of a long-distance adventure in rare and authentic territory.

The first major link in Algerian territory. The landscape gradually transforms until reaching the Aïn Séfra region, known as one of the gateways to the Sahara. Overnight bivouac.

We continue towards Taghit, one of the most beautiful oases in the Algerian Sahara. The arrival reveals a remarkable combination of dune, palm grove and traditional architecture. Hotel accommodation.

A day dedicated to exploring the erg surrounding Taghit. A more sensory and photographic stage, where the dune dominates the horizon and the desert truly begins to reveal its scale. Return and overnight in hotel.

A crossing towards Timimoun, the famous “ville rouge”. Upon arrival, the atmosphere changes: reddish architecture, palm groves and the proximity of the Grand Erg Occidental create one of the most striking images of the entire expedition. Hotel accommodation.

A large-scale link through the central Sahara. This is a stage of progression and endurance, with vast horizons, mineral surroundings and a growing sense of isolation. Overnight bivouac.

The expedition moves towards one of the great dune fields of south-eastern Algeria. Arrival at Erg Admer marks a change of scenery and rhythm, with the desert gaining depth and grandeur. Bivouac in the dunes.

Leaving the dunes behind, we head towards Djanet, an oasis town and gateway to the world of Tassili and Tadrart. It is a key point in the journey, where culture, logistics and preparation for the most iconic stages come together. Hotel accommodation.

Entering one of the most impressive regions in the entire Sahara. Tadrart reveals great sandstone formations, sandy corridors and a true expedition atmosphere. Overnight bivouac.

A deep progression stage in a desert environment, passing through Moul Naga, one of the region’s most iconic landscape references. The day ends at Tin Merzouga, in the heart of the great dunes. Bivouac.

A gradual return to Djanet after two days of intense landscapes. This stage allows the Tadrart experience to settle before the transition to the following sectors. Hotel accommodation.

A new departure from Djanet via Tekobawen, deepening the discovery of this region before returning to Erg Admer. A linking stage with strong visual character and expedition spirit. Overnight bivouac.

We leave the dune environment behind and continue towards Illizi, a reference point in south-eastern Algeria. The route crosses remote territories and reinforces the expedition’s crossing dimension. Bivouac.

The final long link of the expedition. The return to the port brings to a close a rare and intense crossing through Algeria, leaving the Sahara behind with the feeling of having lived a true African adventure.
